Sharon Edrei was born in Tel-Aviv, Israel. At 8, she emigrated to the U.S. with her family. She spent most of her adult life in New York City, but has also lived abroad in France and Italy.
Sharon is a classically trained actor with intensive instruction in both theater and film. She is a graduate of the William Esper Studio in New York, and has been privileged to study with master craftsmen such as Salome Jens, Wyn Handman (Artistic Director of the American Place Theater), and - from NYU's prestigious Tisch School of the Arts - Louis Scheeder (Shakespeare), Shane Ann Younts (voice & speech) and Christine Batten (Alexander technique), among others. She holds a Masters degree in English Literature from Yale University.
Sharon recently appeared in the MET Theater Company's production of "Wagner and Mendelssohn," for which LA WEEKLY stated "Only Edrei, beautiful in a costume by Howard Schmidt, breathes life and conviction into the deadwood."
New York stage credits include Sonja Zat in "The Way To Begin" (Alternate Theater Company), Marion in Oliver Hailey's "Father's Day" (Handyman Productions), Denise Van Gelden in Sherry Kramer's "The Wall of Water" (Six Figures Theater Company), Grace Dodge in "Real! Live! America!" (NY Fringe Festival), and Joan Hathorne in "Witch Hunt" (Finalist Samuel French Festival).
Sharon has also appeared in numerous independent features, including "Akrasia", "Freakshow", "Hollywood Unscripted", and the as yet unreleased "Whippersnapper".
